Two tales in Joseph Jacobs’s 1892 collection show different ways of helping. Princess Labam brings together the skills of ants and tigers. In the tale of the Brahman, the jackal reenacts the beginning of the dispute. The collection appeared in London and records tales associated with Indian storytelling traditions.
