Origin and tradition
India · storytelling tradition
The king’s tasks require more than one person’s skills. Ants press oil from mustard seeds, tigers fight, and a flying bed carries the prince to a drum. When a wax hatchet cannot cut a trunk, Labam supplies the answer. The prince accepts the tasks and a different skill makes each one possible.
