Origin and tradition

India · storytelling tradition

The Brahman lets the tiger out of a cage. When the tiger threatens him, the jackal pretends to misunderstand how it all began. The tiger steps back into the cage to correct the jackal’s account. An Afghan tale uses the same device with a bag, a snake and a fox. I’m Black Horse. What does the clever animal persuade the other to show in each tale?
