Counts reflect the Atlas catalogue. A link may represent a recording, a publication or an association with a local tradition.
The first two tales on the Somalia page come from a bilingual book project developed with Minnesota’s Somali community. Dhegdheer tells of danger in a valley. Wiil Waal follows a girl whose advice helps her father answer a ruler’s riddle. The Atlas distinguishes the Somali storytelling tradition from Saint Paul, where the books were published in 2007.
