Saudi Arabia’s first Atlas records come from Najdi storytelling. In The Crow and the Fox at Dinner, dates are served in a way the guest cannot eat. In Juha’s anecdote, a date palm reminds someone of a garden taken from its owner. The same plant does different work in the two stories.
