Character

How does it work in the tale?

In the 1903 Guernsey collection, fairies arrive as a group and send a messenger to the islanders. In Perrault’s Cinderella, one fairy helps the heroine get to the ball. Watch who a fairy encounters and what the fairy wants to understand its role.

How long does the fairy’s help last?

In Perrault’s Cinderella, the fairy makes it possible to go to the ball and sets a time to return. On the first night Cinderella leaves in time. On the second she is caught up in the festivities and has to run. The fairy’s rule stays the same, which makes it easier to see what changes between the two balls.
