Character
How does it work in the tale?
She turns a garden pumpkin into a coach and sets a midnight deadline. The gift creates an opportunity and gives it a time limit. Grimm’s tree and birds offer a different way to help the heroine.
What does Cinderella do while the fairy helps?
In Perrault, Cinderella brings the pumpkin herself. Once the fairy has prepared the horses, it is Cinderella who suggests looking in the rat trap for a coachman. The fairy works the magic, and Cinderella helps find and choose what the journey will need.
