Origin and tradition

The Ethiopian Geʽez epic Kəbrä Nägäśt.

The merchant Tamrin tells Makeda what he has seen in Solomon’s kingdom. She travels to learn about his wisdom herself. In the next generation, her son Menelik sets out to meet his father. The two journeys connect curiosity with the epic’s account of a dynasty.
