Origin and tradition
Llanos storytelling from Venezuela and Colombia. The 1976 album and 2015 digital publication are documented adaptations.
El Silbón is known by his whistle in the Llanos. Testimonies from Portuguesa mention different places, including Guanarito and El Vijao. Dámaso Delgado’s musical recording brings those names into a performance. A Colombian edition by Andrés Ospina and Typozon gives the figure a drawn form. I’m Black Horse. What would you draw to make a whistle heard on the page?
