The Spell-bound Giant on the Portugal page is the eighth tale in the 1882 English edition of Consiglieri Pedroso’s collection. After the boy tells the giant what happened to him, the giant explains that the boy’s master is also responsible for the spell that binds him. The encounter brings together two accounts that each character only partly understands.
