In the Huarochirí manuscript on the Peru page, two foxes meet near the sleeping Huatya Curi and discuss the cause of Tamtañamca’s illness. The National Library of Peru’s study locates the scene in chapter five. The foxes know something the people do not yet know, and that gap gives Huatya Curi a way to act.
