Snow White
In short: The heroine who escapes the jealous queen and takes refuge with the dwarfs.
Character
How does it work in the tale?
In Grimm, the queen sets several traps, ending with the poisoned apple. Snow White wakes when the piece of apple comes free, a detail that later adaptations sometimes change.
What does the glass coffin make visible?
In the Grimms’ 1857 text, Snow White can be seen through the glass coffin. The prince sees her and reads the inscription. Later, when one of the bearers stumbles, the piece of apple comes loose. One scene preserves what everyone can see, while the next changes her condition with a small jolt.
