Origin and tradition
Western Sahara · Sahrawi storytelling tradition, approximate location
In the telling by Prieto Cebrián and Jiménez Trigueros, Yoja meets a motorcyclist from town while carrying firewood. One admires the motorcycle’s speed and the other the donkey’s load. After they part, Yoja tries to help the motor along with grass and straw. The townsman treats the donkey like a machine. Both mistakes grow out of the same exchange.
