Origin and tradition

Stanley · Pig and Whistle story

A 1989 issue of Government News describes the building’s new use and makes room for a local rumour. The Pig and Whistle is said to have its own ghost. The notice also says the new owners had reported no sightings at that point. The brief item shows how a rumour attached to a building can leave a trace in print.
