Origin and tradition
Anansi tellings documented in Suriname and Curaçao. The dates identify a revised book edition and the publication of a video archive record.
In Alvin Inecia’s Curaçao account, Nanzi says he will ride Tiger to the palace. He pretends to be ill and persuades Tiger to help him. The Suriname edition also puts Nanzi on Tiger’s back. In both tellings, the small spider’s success depends on what others see.
