Origin and tradition
One Patamona story associated with Kaieteur Falls in Guyana. The 1876 edition and the 1915 collection that reproduces it are separate publication records.
In Brown’s account, an older man is sent down the Potaro River in a canoe with a basket of belongings. Below the falls a pointed rock is remembered as the canoe and a square rock as the basket. Roth’s 1915 collection reproduces Brown’s account.
