Origin and tradition
Pyongyang · Moran Hill area
In the Pyongyang collection, Sol spends the money he saved for rice to buy and free the carp. A prince arrives that night and tells Sol he was the fish. When offered a favour, Sol asks how the fields might be protected from flooding. The legend explains the river’s course and the sheer face of Chongryu through a dragon cleaving the side of Moran Hill.
