Origin and tradition

Ghana · Akan storytelling tradition

Kweku Tsin and the other prisoners try to escape a dragon on a rope ladder. The sound of his fiddle sends the dragon back to dance and buys the others time. Kweku Tsin becomes the Sun, Anansi the Moon, and their companions the stars. The one who helps others escape becomes the one who gives them light.
