Henry Parker’s 1910 collection compares several tellings alongside The Jackal and the Turtle. In some accounts, the fall of the turtle carried by birds ends the journey. In the Sri Lankan record it begins a new encounter. Parker’s notes let readers follow the same scene in the air towards different endings.
