Origin and tradition
Oral traditions from Panama and Costa Rica. The 1930 and 2008 publications record different local tellings.
In the story Garay heard from Cuevas in Horconcitos, Tulivieja searches the riverbank for her lost child. In the Escazú account, Tuto Yoyo says he bound Tule Vieja with a vine. I’m Black Horse. Who follows the figure in the first story? Who gets to describe the encounter in the second?
